The Los Angeles Times reported Saturday that through his work with the satirical magazine in the 1950s, Elder helped create the foundation for the publication's irreverent style and wit for decades to come. "Will Elder was absolutely brilliant," Mad writer-cartoonist Al Jaffee said. "He was the star from the beginning; he had a feel for the kind of satire that eventually spread everywhere." While noted for his artistic skills, Elder earned a reputation for the simple comical gags he inserted into the magazine's cartoon panels. Elder even had a sense of humor regarding such minor visual gags, calling them "chicken fat" for the magazine. The Times said Elder, who died Thursday of Parkinson's disease, is survived by two children, a brother and two grandchildren.

Shining Tears “1/8 Scale Seena, 1/8 Scale Houmei & 1/1 Maple” PVC Figures

"Seena, Houmei & Maple" are the heroines from the PlayStation 2 game, "Shining Tears X Wind," developed by Nextech and Sega. “Shining Tears X Wind” presents us an adapted version of the Shining Wind's story, seen through Souma's perspective. It is directed by Hiroshi Watanabe and produced by Studio Deen the PlayStation 2 game, "Shining Tears."
The following three figures set to be released in August are:
- Seena is the leader of the Luminous Knights (an independent mercenary group) and one of the heroines from Shining Tears X Wind. The crystal doll eyes "Seena" is an 8" tall PVC figure fully painted and comes in a window box. She is being introduced in her mercenary costume.
