Some of my best toy collecting memories are from that time period. Priceless. The toys were fresh, cool, and new. It was fun because you could actually find stuff at retail, afford it, and look forward to new stuff arriving somewhat regularly throughout the year. Wish lists and posting was frequent and fun on the websites. "You don't know what you've got till it's gone" is so true in this case.

Bizarre. That is the world of action figure collecting. Twisted.
What else can you call it?
Again, a major producer of product, DCENTERTAIMENT, sends out something so overpriced and poorly made that buyers recoil with disgust.
How does this continue?
I give you recent example. MATTEL has liquidated more Matty JLU stuff through BBTS And Diamond. for dirt cheap.
And this is not the first liquidation by a major. See Hasbro toy shop for the digital sub comic figs, Oliies and Roses discount for other dumped product.
Is this a viable business model? Make something new and sell it sky high. Once the market saturated, sell it for pennies. The model must work. For now anyways but I see a watershed moment coming when buyers fully rebuff the overpricing.
I am so leary about over paying, I can't fully run out and buy the new 66 Batman stuff.
Betcha they'll be on clearance soon.
