Captain Action 50th Anniversary Card Game
“Casual & Collectible Card Game Available October”
New York, N.Y. (October 27, 2016): Captain Action Enterprises, in cooperation with veteran game designers Harold Sipe and Meg Stivison, is proud to announce the release of the new 50th Anniversary Captain Action Card Game.
The collectible card game celebrates the 50th anniversary of the character by featuring all the characters from the Captain Action mythos: Action Boy and Khem, his pet black panther, Lady Action and the diabolical Dr. Evil.
The new game features classic art from legendary comics artists such as Murphy Anderson and Carmine Infantino. Fan-favorite comics artists, including Jerry Ordway, Paul Gulacy and Kerry Callen, have also contributed new artwork to this celebratory collectible.
“Drawing Dr. Evil was a fun experience, made easier because I still have my childhood era Dr. Evil action figure plus the Dr. Ling face mask! Captain Action was my number one favorite toy to play with as a child, and it is an honor to be a small part of this game, ” said comics superstar Jerry Ordway.
The casual card game is for three or four players and three different games can be played with the deck and is can be played by ages 12 and up. The game is available online from the tabletop retailer, The Game Crafter. The game can be purchased at www.TheGameCrater.com, and will available via select retailers in time for the holidays.
“We are beyond proud to be part of Captain Action’s 50th Anniversary,” says game producer, Harold Sipe. ”We believe the game will be a blast for Captain Action fans and a great way to share the characters with the next generation.”
This new game has a historical precedent. In 1967, General Mills’ frozen confection, Kool-Pops (a Kool-Aid brand extension) offered fans a Captain Action card set for mailing in 3 boxtops. These playing cards, featuring Captain Action and other heroes, are a prize collectible for today’s Captain Action fans.
The 50th Anniversary Captain Action Card Set, in many ways an homage to the Kool Pops mail-in premium, has suggested retail price of $25.99 and will be on sale via www.TheGameCrater.com on November 1, 2016.
