SDCC 2013: MATTEL – MAN OF STEEL EXCLUSIVES

Written by on June 25, 2013 in DC, Mattel, San Diego Comic Con - 1 Comment

Many, many movie-goers watched Superman and Zod battle it out in epic fashion for the fate of Metropolis in Man of Steel this past weekend, and next month they can bring the action home.

Mattel will have a exclusive Man of Steel Movie Masters set ($50) available at San Diego Comic-Con July 18-21 that features action figures of Superman (played by Henry Cavill) — complete with plastic spit curl — and Kryptonian villain General Zod (Michael Shannon).

The key highlight: With the push of a button on his back, Superman’s eyes light up to show his heat vision. Zod comes with a cool steel girder accessory plus the toy looks a lot more like Shannon than the Movie Masters Zod available already in stores.

Mattel will also be selling other pop-culture merch at the con, including an Adam West Batusi Batman figure ($30), a Barbie doll ($35) inspired by Catwoman from the 1966 Batman TV series, an A-Team Hot Wheels van ($20) and Rokkon and Stonedar figures ($60) from the Masters of the Universe Classics line.

Does Superman have enough articulation to snap Zod’s neck? :)
