Welcome back my young apprentices to the Jedi Council! Today you will be treated to Sideshow Collectibles Cyborg Darth Maul Premium Format statue. Here is the story behind this cool piece.
Trained in secret as a merciless killing machine, the diabolical Darth Maul is the perfect counterpart to the subtlety of his master, Darth Sidious – the Sith Lord. Where Sidious is shadowy and elusive, his scarlet and pitch-tattooed apprentice is a vivid manifestation of Sith rage. Sharpened horns curve, scythe-like, from the skin of his shaved head and the fiery red thrumming of his double-bladed lightsaber is matched only by the blazing intensity of his venomous stare. Armed with a deadly array of weapons and sophisticated tracking equipment, the Sith hunter is dispatched by Lord Sidious to track down Naboo’s errant Queen Amidala and force her to submit to the Federation’s demands.
That Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi will stand in the killer’s way only spurs Maul’s eagerness and fuels his determination. But when Maul kills Qui-Gon, his rage and determination are met and matched by Obi-Wan. As Maul wields the dark side to hurl the Jedi into a mining pit, Kenobi retaliates with the light side of the Force and cleaves Maul in half with his saber, sending him in pieces into the fiery abyss.
Believing Maul to be defeated, Obi-Wan carries out his mission and eventually takes on the role of watching over young Luke Skywalker as he grows up on the desert planet Tatooine. But Maul somehow managed to survive, acquiring cybernetic legs and a new vendetta – he will not rest until he once again meets Obi-Wan face to face.
All in all a very wicked looking character from Star Wars!
