Hello again. I once again traveled to the Hollywood area to the Toy Art Gallery to see an exhibition. I couldn’t make it opening night so an afternoon trip would have to do. This time I went to view Quim Tarrida’s showing of “If you blink, You’ll miss it”. This was Quim’s first exhibition in the United States and a cool one it is. The exhibition featured a series of sculptural pieces, limited ceramic editions, and drawings, notable among which are classical pieces from his iconography, such as Subsub Family, The Soldier, Subcutanian Ninja, Oh Gaar, or his latest productions, Relaxing in Blue and The Monkey Knows… and check out the huge 8 foot tall soldier figure. It is as big as it looks. All in all I was pretty impressed with the showing. While not my thing I can appreciate the work that went in to making these pieces! The show runs through December 30 at the Toy Art Gallery 7571 Melrose Ave. Hollywood CA 90046.
More cool stuff soon.
