BOO! HALLOWEEN HORROR FROM RANDY!

Written by on November 1, 2011 in Ask Randy, News, Uncategorized - 3 Comments

Happy Halloween! Being the season of scary, I though I’d give you something in the spirit of that!

I’ve been noodling with this project for awhile, but haven’t quite gotten all the way to my full satisfaction. But since this felt right for the spirit of the times and this column, I decided to show you it in progress. So I hope you enjoy a gander at my 12″ custom DEATH KNIGHT!

The figure itself was a Peril Unlimited limited edition “Ash” zombie figure, outfitted with some of Dragon’s TIMELINE knightly wardrobe & armor (cut, painted & distressed by me), along with Shrunken Head Studios’ BITS & PIECES medieval axe to finish it out.

I want to age and dirty it up more. Give it a feel of something that’s been dead and walking around for some time. More dirt, mud and crusty blood!

Let me know what you think.

Have a safe and Happy Halloween!

Really nice work, Randy! I especially like the detailed work on the back of the head. The only thing that would make it more authentic-looking would be if it was buried…and dug itself out of the earth. Beautiful work!

Soromon- Thanks. I still want to do more detail work on this. The surcoat & boots should have more & different shades of mud/dirt, along with different shades of dried blood and some burn marks. Still a WIP but sometimes it takes years for me to finish stuff, so I thought it best to put SOMETHING out there!

Sliding Lock Man in PA- Thank you. I have to say, I didn’t touch the head itself. That was all Peril Unlimited’s work. I hope he comes back soon with more stuff. As tempting a thought as that is, my “backstory” in my head is that this warrior never even got buried, resurrected by a necromancer on the field of battle. Its always easier to custom when you have a story for your character!
