Randy here with an interesting blast from the past!
Has it REALLY been a decade since Rockstar Games’ “Grand Theft Auto III” video game came out, taking the world by storm?
Guess it has- ten years this month.
I remember there being a great deal of media attention to the level of violence, carnage and sexual elements to the game. Now while that can be fun (and it was), I tend to like different things about video games than most. For me, playing it at my friend Crimsonratt’s place on his PS2, I loved the game for the open feel of the world, now referred to as “sandbox-style.” I spent hours driving all around the city, never even bothering to play the actual missions.
And ten years later, Rockstar Games has announced a limited edition anniversary 12″ figure: the silent protagonist Claude:

Pretty sweet!
The fully articulated figure will come with:
- 12 inch body with nearly 30 points of articulation
- Fabric Liberty City State prison outfit
- Bomber jacket with real zippers
- Canvas cargo pants
- Two assault rifles (M-16 & AK-47-RANDY)
- Sniper rifle (Dragunov sniper rifle-RANDY)
- Sub machine gun (Uzi SMG-RANDY)
- Pistol (Glock 17-RANDY)
- Grenades (M67 Grenades-RANDY)
- Knife
- Baseball bat
- One pair of fists
- One right trigger hand
- One left C grip hand
According to Rockstar Games, this figure is done in association with Sideshow Toy. It’s listed as a limited edition of 1,500 pieces and sold through their website. The figure is available for order now at the price of $149.99
I think this is a great way for Rockstar Games to celebrate the GTA II anniversary! I am a little surprised that some of the weapons look a little off(should be wooden furniture on the AK, not a folding stock) or simply not accurate(the sniper rifle should be a Remington 700). You can check out the weapons of GTA II here.
Course, I might need to get one, if only to have Claude astride of the NewRay 1/6 Ninja motorcycles!

Here is where you can order GTA III 12″ Claude from Rockstar.
Rock on Rockstar Games and happy 10th anniversary to the madness, the glory and the freedom of GTA III!
