SDCC 2011: HASBRO’S NIGHTMARE AT THE CON – SPEND THE CON WAITING IN LINE

Written by on August 10, 2011 in Doc Owen, Hasbro, San Diego Comic Con - 3 Comments

San Diego Comic Con 2011 was marked by a nightmare that struck many people stuck in the line for Hasbro exclusives this year. Some folks don’t have time to spend waiting in line, it’s a pain to stand looking at the back of another fanboy’s head while the massive Con swirls around you.
But this is the experience that many Hasbro fans met when they arrived at the Con. Long lines to get pieces of papers telling you when you could spend more time waiting in another line all in the hopes of scoring some cool exclusives. Of course all the time you spend in line, the more of the Con you miss.
We have taken one man’s experience and Doc Owen talked with him at the Con after he spent tow of his four days in the con being pushed around and made to shuttle around the convention center just to stand in line to shop.

We hope that this will make it to the management for the Hasbro group, as this could be seen as a tremendous public relations disaster.

Great interview, and an excellent representation of what its actually like to purchase exclusives! Hopefully Hasbro will get some REAL organization…like make enough product, you sell out every year, at the con and online. Set up an area and man it with people who are knowledgable about the product and the limits that are placed on each product. Step up and show your loyal fans you appreciate them and thier patronage, and STOP the NONSENSE of Lines to get in lines to purchase product at at later time.

This has been an issue for at least the last four years of Hasbro’s Toy Shop Booth at SDCC. Is this really news to anyone?

Not news, but now we can submit this to the folks at Hasbro and maybe there can be changes made.
We shall see if there is a response.
